The Five Things All Leaders Do – Part 1

I got this from my friend, Mike Koenigs, Mr. “Traffic Geyser”, who mentions others who he picked this up from including Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra and others.

Leaders all do five things.

The first is they visualize.  Viscerally.  They literally feel what it feels like to do the thing they have set out to do.

Here’s how you can start if you are not already doing this:  (and if you are you can add this in to enhance what you already do naturally)

Dr. Maxwell Malts, author of the book Psycho-Cybernetics along with Dan Kennedy, co-author of The New Psycho-Cybernetics talks about a practice called going into your “Theatre of the Mind”.  You put yourself into a quiet space for at least five minutes, close your eyes, take a deep breath and relax.  Then, in your mind, you walk into your own private screening of your movie.  You are the director, screenwriter and actor.  You watch yourself doing the very thing you desire – putting your first million in the bank or your daughter through college, planting a garden or losing 20 pounds – you choose.

Five minutes a day to unleash the power of your subconscious.

This has happened to me time and time again to the point where I don’t even question its validity – I know it works by the things that have happened in my life, and sometimes in mysterious ways.

The fact that I am writing to you right now is one example out of many.  I’d always dreamed of being a writer and making a living at it, even though consciously I had no idea how I could possibly do it.

So that’s #1.

Watch for #2 – I feel a series coming on.  And do send me your stories – I love hearing from you.
