3 Biz Boosters

Well I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July weekend.

Independence Day has got to be one of my favorite holidays – besides celebrating independence, and saying in a sense, “Take that, you tyrants!” – it’s hangin’ out with family, laying on a blanket under the stars watching fireworks with a gentle summer breeze caressing your skin… Does it get much better?

But I’ve been busy too, discovering a wealth of new business building power tools, which I’ll be sharing with you, starting… right now!

#1 Ryan Deiss’ VSL’s (Video Sales Letters) absolutely always deliver a knockout punch. If you don’t already, you should get on his list just to steal a ton of great marketing ideas, from tested email subject lines to every word and phrase in his VSL’s to how he strings it all together. The dude (and his team) is amazing… Here’s an example, if it’s still up: http://www.digitalmarketer.com/video/

#2 In a completely different vein, here’s one I picked up in Jeanna Poole’s book, Marketing for Solo’s (highly recommended if you are a “solo-preneur”), Robert Middleton’s http://actionplan.com. Very simple, clean, yet powerfully effective guidance and a site that “practices what he preaches”, also especially if you are a solo, but a great example of simple, great marketing regardless.

#3 Email is DEAD, right? Think again. Here’s an interesting stat from Ali Brown, admittedly biased as the “Ezine Queen”, but interesting if you are still waiting for social media to put money in your pocket. Here I quote from her lead magnet, “Ezine Publishing Profits”:

According to a 2010 study by ExactTarget, 56% of U.S. Internet users nteract with brands only via marketing emails, compared to 1.3% who interact only via Twitter and 0.7% by Facebook.
I’m sure I’ll get some flack for saying anything against social media – not that you don’t want it as part of your marketing mix – I plan to use facebook ads in an upcoming campaign – but seriously, show me the money.

I have no affiliate connections with any of the above, just sending you what I think are some great tools for boosting your business. Here’s to an awesome 2011, Part II !!!

Be cool now.
